Reading The Compass Rose now. Maybe I have a thing for books with "Compass" in the title. I don't know. But they had me at matriarchy. And the fact that it's sci-fi/fantasy as well

the name means the most beautiful and it comes from Kaliste which aslo means the most beautiful or most fairest. It was on the golden apple that Eris tossed to the other Goddesses and was the cause of the Trojan war.
