I'm trying to learn to be forgiving of typos and weird punctuation and grammar again lately (especially since I've been reading early American literature, what with their non-standard spellings. UGH, IT BURNS). It's difficult when you have a character/muse like [Garrett]. But there's one thing I can't forgive ( Read more... )

Sometimes I do, in dialogue. But this was heinous.

Oh snap XD I have an RP character who has English as a second language and he never got the hang of using contractions, so he totally talks like a proper asshole.

Actually, if it's an ESL character (that hasn't been speaking it very long), I don't mind. I was talking about characters that speak casually, so I meant that they were a little more fluent than that.

A lot of my characters are ESL, but one of them has particularly stilted speech at times.
