Maybe they start off with the old fashioned story board or a few points for their ideas :O?

Well...yeah, of course. For layouts and storyboards. But I'm pretty sure they've got a story actually written (or at least conceptualized) before drawing anything.

This looks like a job for people that have taken a class on storyboarding.
