Your main fandom of the year?
The year was split. It was equal parts American Idol in the first half, and Sherlock Holmes in the second. But anyone who has talked to me about anything since July knows my heart thoroughly belongs to Sherlock at present.
Your favorite film watched this year?
I'm terrible with remembering what films I've watched in any given year. I recently saw the final Nodame Cantabile live action movie though. That story will always be near and dear to my heart. All that I have left is the manga to follow now, and it seems to be having some US release difficulties. (gyabo~)
Your favorite book read this year?
A Game of Thrones by George R.R. Martin, which I just finished up last week. Read in anticipation of the mini-series, which I am excited for!
Your favorite album or song to listen to this year?
A Badly Broken Code by Dessa. It's been a Doomtree kind of year for me.
Your favorite TV show of the year?
Sherlock. Are we surprised?
Your favorite LJ community of the year?
Again, because the focuses of my fannish year were split in two: First,
sherlockbbc_fic because I have possibly spent more time in the kink memes there than is healthy. And second,
ontd_ai, which I stalked like creepy McStalkerson all day every day for a while there. It's died down a lot lately. Still, the sheer number of gifs I have from that comm is rather astounding.
Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
wordstrings's Paradox Series, which I can't recommend enough.
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Mm. The tail end of Supernatural season five. Season six is looking up, but season five almost lost me on the show. It was a near thing.
Your TV boyfriend of the year?
I can never settle on one person with these things. Adam Lambert clearly loves me and wants me to be happy, so I will go with him. Except Kris Allen seems to be making a wholehearted effort at it too. Maybe also Robert Downey Jr. And Matt Smith is more adorkable than I anticipated him being... DECISIONS ARE HARD, OKAY?
Your TV girlfriend of the year?
Keely Hawes, who keeps being gorgeous and awesome in everything she does. And Katie McGrath, although she's gotten the shaft on Merlin lately. But she can smirk at me evilly all day. I am down with it. I'm still more than a little in love with Michelle Ryan too. And Karen Gillan hits me right where I have a soft spot for redheads... okay, I'm stopping now before this gets even more out of hand.
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
RORY!
RORY NOT BEING DEAD! RORY AND AMY AND THE DOCTOR! IN THE TARDIS HAVING ADVENTURES! Ahem.
The most missed of your old fandoms?
I'm having a resurgence of fandom love for Due South since
mariemisu,
blacksquirrel and myself started rewatching it! The fandom's not really dead though. Otherwise, I would also go with Harry Potter, because I still love and adore me some Sirius/Remus. Despite the movies, a fair chunk of the fandom moved on after the books completed.
The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to?
Currently, I'm working my way through Fringe from the start. I also have Community on my list.
Your biggest fan anticipations for the New Year?
More Sherlock! More Doctor Who! And probably some new fandom that will come out of nowhere and blindside me. It's the way of things. I am also looking forward to tackling some podfic projects I've been eying up. That'll happen as soon as I get the free time again. Ah ha. Ha ha. Ha.
