For no real reason whatsoever, I got to thinking about my favorite longfics the other day. If you tossed me onto a deserted island with no internet and only a limited amount of fic to sustain me for the rest of time, these are the stories I would take with me. And I'd be more or less all right with that.

I totally fail at reading my flist (no, really, I gave up on it around the time I stopped regularly updating my journal, like, three years ago?), but occasionally I'll see someone comment on something and then be like, "hey, wonder what they're up to", and then go read a bunch of their most recent entries.
And, okay, I knew we shared a bunch of fandoms in common, but I failed to realize that we practically shared ALL of our fandoms in common! Merlin! Star Wars! Shoebox! Sherlock! And I just recently got into both Due South AND SGA. And then I look further, and it just gets better! Ouran! Ouran! *does happy dance of glee ( ... )

You are just getting into Due South AND Atlantis?! AHHHH, YAY. I want to rec you SO MUCH FIC now. Due South I've been head over heels for since about 1995, since it was one of my formative fandoms. SGA I adore to bits, but I very rarely force it onto any of my friends because it's a bit terrible (which I love), while the fandom is so ridiculously smart.
Ooh, yes, hold off on Written By The Victors for now. After season two would be the optimum time to read it. But do not stop, do not pass go, proceed directly to it when you do!
I am doing a happy dance in anticipation of a two voice Chicago's Most Wanted!

I just...never got around to watching it until now. And the thing is that the show is just really...mediocre. Sort of. Except if you watch it with slash goggles on from behind a fannish filter, it becomes HILARIOUS and SUUUUPER GAY. Which is awesome. (Also, I recently watched an episode with moonlingmaid after having an hour-long discussion with her about how Joe Flannigan's acting totally ( ... )
