It's official. I am obsessed with a contestant on American Idol. I mean, I know I had a taste of it last year with David Cook, but they haven't even selected the top 12 yet, and I'm already rooting hard for someone

You have a fellow obsessee on your flist! I don't even know how it happened, I had a grand plan to not even like him! It took a while for me to close my mouth after first watching that second youtube video, lmao. I was like "wait... is that?... oh my god" haha. But that's all part of why I love him! Also, I hadn't seen any of those pictures before, so thanks for posting. They're... interesting. Now the only thing I'm hoping is that he still sticks around after all of this stuff is out and about :/
Good luck with the taxes! I suppose the only benefit that ever came out of me being jobless and broke is that doing my taxes took about 20 minutes!

followed by something like Ziggy Stardust the next week. Simon's head will spin.

Oh yeah, Danny Deadwife already has the evangelical Christian vote wrapped up. By the way, did you know his wife died? The interesting thing is apparently Danny and Adam are actually friends and roommates. I can totally see TPTB setting up Clean Cut Boy Next Store vs. Wild Goth (gay) Guy as the finale.
And there is already a website set up to pray for Adam -- and not in a good way. Good God people, get a life.
There really isn't anyone in tonight's group that I'm excited about seeing. Maybe I'll be surprised.

"Dear God, please to be smiting the gay dude?"
Worse. The "please to be entering his heart and making him see the error of his sinful ways, and making him more like the way WE think EVERYONE should be."
In fairness to Danny, I think he realizes it's gone over the top, but frankly, he started it and he allowed it.

He really is amazingly talented and has the look, that's for sure! Whether or not it's enough to overcome the bigotry, that's another story!

The best thing he can do is say "Yeah, that's who I am. So what?" And then sing to really make his point. And his parents are so white bread middle-america, yet clearly love him and are proud of him and accept him, and showing that will go a long way to make some people re-think their prejudices.
Or at least, that's what I hope.
