I realised I haven't really written anything this summer so I thought I'd fix that. What I've been up to lately,

-- Impatiently waiting for the Bobby Long tickets to be available so that I finally can get one. He's coming to Paris two times next September and I don't want to miss that for the world but I'm scared to miss the sale. He's playing in ( Read more... )

These last two years I was studying in Versailles so I got to live there from Monday to Friday/Saturday. My school was 2 minutes away from the palace so I could visit anytime I wanted !! It's free to visit the Gardens. You're free to go and leave (from 9am to 8.30pm I think). It's also free to visit the palace if you're under 26 which is cool. I haven't visited the palace in a very long time but I do go to the garden quite often.

Thanks !!!! I'm on holiday so I have all the time I want to read. I'm really unhappy when I'm at school and too busy to read what I want to read. I don't really know... There are periods where I don't read that many books though. It depends on the mood.
Taking a year off to read sounds great !!!

My grandmother was addicted to "East of Eden". She read the book numerous times and had an old VHS that she watched over and over. Thank you for the memory. I will have to check my local library.

I wish I could sit and read "The Dharma Burns" aloud. I really like HEARING Jack Kerouac's writings.

Oh that's such a nice story :D I'm sure your grandmother was a great person. Have you read the book or seen the film yourself ? I'm a huge fan of the film too even though it's quite different from the book.

ME TOO !!!! :)

Ugh True Blood is just soooo amazing this season and very intriguing. My mom keeps telling me about different interviews they've had at Comic Con so I watched them of course. I <3 them.

It is so wonderful that both your mother and your sister are reading East of Eden! That's quite exciting :o)

Also, I finished Brideshead Revisited---and you were so right. I didn't know what to do once I'd finished! So I re-read the Deathly Hallows (which I very much enjoyed the second time round). But, Brideshead Revisited, I think I'd very much like to watch the miniseries now.

My sister finished it today ! And you're so right about East of Eden being the sort of book you really enjoy re-read. I don't think you can completely enjoy it at the first reading. You need to think about it for months and then re-read it.

Have you seen the last adaptation with Ben Whishaw and Matthew Goode ? It hasn't been released in France yet.

Also, did you see the film the last HP film ? I was very much tempted to read the last book after I saw the film...
