Probably your 1658669th Oscars entry

Feb 23, 2009 17:56

In the end, I was able to watch the Oscars live on the Internet ! I'm so happy I managed to find a way to see it because I would have been disappointed to miss it. I went to bed at 6.00 am this morning but I wasn't even tired ! I guess it's because I'm on holiday and sleep a lot. Anyway ( Read more... )

I am so happy that Heath Ledger won an oscar. He played a fantastic part in that movie and it was truly deserved! I didn't get to see any of it, but I heard his family recieved it on his behalf. It must have been so emotinal for everyone, especially for his family!

Oh really, Robert was a presenter? I didn't know that.

And so was I !!!! His sister and parents came on stage and receive the award on his behalf. Everyone was very quiet and emotional, yes.

YES !!!!!! He was introducing a sequence about romantic films. He was great !

That was my reaction too !! I got all excited by his introduction by Robert DeNiro but then, when they were about to announce the winner I kind of let down and just started to wait for Mickey Rourke to get on stage. And then, when I heard ' Sean ...' I just couldn't believe it !!!!!!!

Me too !!! These new introductions are much more personal and genuine ! Loved the idea !

Ohh Yes ! I think he teary the whole show lol He's great, I love him :)

AWWW I AM HAPPY YOU SHARE MY ADORATION FOR THIS PICTURE !!!!

KATE :D Although, if I am honest, I wish she had won for Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, which, of the performances I have seen her in, is my favorite. Still, YAY.

I love Anne Hathaway, as much as I love Kate Winslet. When Shirley Maclaine mentioned her potential future nominations, all I could think was 'so true so true.' Also Marisa Tomei is gorgeous in that dress. And I have a strange affection for Penelope Cruz, but only when she's in a film in which she doesn't have to perform in English--I saw Volver a few weeks ago, and she was amazing in that ( ... )

I'm SO, SO happy she finally got her Oscar. Everyone in the audience knew how happy she would be and how much she wanted it. Actually, it felt like the show was a road toward her winning !

I'm happy you love Anna Hathaway too !!! I don't know, not that many people acknowledge her greatness :) And I agree, we are going to see her a lot in the future. I don't know why I can't stand Penelope Cruz. I don't really know. I don't dislike her as an actress but it's just her. And I even thought her speech was cute. I can't really explain it. I know I'm wrong but I can't help it ...

I agree !! The new format was great ! The show wasn't boring (apart from the 187878672376767637 commercials !

There were sooooooo many commercials! It was ridiculous.

I get what you mean about Penelope Cruz. I've felt that way toward actors/actresses, too, when you don't have any reason to dislike them or their work, but somehow, you just...don't. I'm trying to remember some, but I've so repressed them out of my mind that I can't even remember right now :o)

You're very welcome !! I read many people people from Great Britain couldn't watch it because a private channel got the rights. It's the same here and I think it's a real shame !
I'm glad you like the pics :D
