-- I still can't get over the fact that I won't be able to watch the Oscars this year... I was able to watch it two years ago, stayed up all night and enjoyed it like nothing else thanks to the German TV but this year we can't get this channel anymore. Poor me. I do love Awards shows SO MUCH.

tennessee williams memoirs must be interesting reading! i've got susan sontag's journals in my amazon shopping basket, buying it on friday when i get paid. cannot wait to get my teeth into that! i really love reading memoirs and journals of the writers i admire. have you ever read the journals of sylvia plath? i would recommend them heartily - they are everything a good journal should be!!

I love the fact he was this huge writer but also a sort of celebrity so he got to meet all the actors/directors who worked on his plays. I'm sure it's going to be very interesting !

Oh Susan Sontag's Journals !! It's everywhere in France at the moment. I would love to read it ! You'll have to tell me what you think about it ! :)

I agree, memoirs and journals are always fascinating and interesting readings. I wish I could read much more of them ! I did read Sylvia's journals but it was in French and a very long time ago and (it's funny that you're also mentioning it now) I've been looking for it everywhere in my favourit English bookshops but I can't find it. I have to order them from Amazon so that I can re-read it in its original version :)

I'm sorry you can't watch the awards :o( Do they broadcast that sort of thing on the internet, I wonder? The names of the winners (might have) leaked, I have heard--I don't think that has ever happened before, if it's for real.

East of Eden! All this talk of it really makes me want to re-read it. My sister has my copy, I'm going to have to get it back from her. It's all very ambiguous with regards to who Aron & Cal's real father is, though, isn't it? Though I always though it was Charles, too :o)

I've seen some places where they could maybe be broadcast it. I'm crossing the fingers. And yes, I saw that a list of winners has appeared. That would be very disappointing from the Academy if this was true. I prefer to think this isn't the real list even though some of the winners are predictable ! I think our dear Michael Shannon is going to lose to Heath Ledger. But I do hope Sean Penn will win Best Actor for Milk :D

Ohh I'm sorry for your sister, it's my fault you want to re-read it lol ! Yes, it is indeed ambiguous, I agree. Adam doesn't really want to question the thing. He doesn't really try to think about it. We are experiencing the situation with him.
