I read Beedle the Bard in an hour; its short and sweet but worth it. I read I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings this year, too! And I've always heard really wonderful things about Carson McCullers, so tell me how you like it.

Aw, that's very good to hear !! :)
People here in Canada and I am sure in the US too (since I lived there for four years) are very committed to celebrating Christmas. It's really amazing, hehe. I don't celebrate Xmas traditionally but I do loads of gift exchanging.

Beautiful pictures, and I cannot get enough of Nutella. Been eating it since I was a baby, seriously !! :) Mum and dad fed me Nutella hahahaha. :P

Oh the new book by JKR is really short and you can finish it in 30 minutes - 1 hour ... but I think you'll like it ??

That's great that you also exchange gifts even though you don't celebrate Christmas. It's also an exciting time for you when you sort of show your love to people you love.

LOL ! I love it when the nutella melts on your toast !!!!

Ohh ok ! Thanks a lot :D

Oh she said that when she went to McDonald the other day, she was shocked / surprised to see that there were a big banner that said 'merry christmas' and she explained to me that where she lives, nobody says merry christmas. They say happy holiday instead because it's more politically correct. But that's very surprising considering the relation between both our presidents and religion. You president can express his faith whereas our president could never do that. At the same time, I told her that it's forbidden by the law to show your religious faith here by wearing a cross around your neck or any other things that would show you're from this or that religion. And she told me that would NEVER happen in the US ( ... )

i always forget that the united states and france are so different because we are so similar. (bffs!) we actually talked about the french court system in my law class the other week and i thought of you! but yeah, i never see signs that say merry christmas, that is surprising. we're supposed to say "happy holidays" in school but nobody gets bent out of shape if you say "merry christmas" because tbh, we aren't a very diverse area when it comes to religion or even race. i think more people here celebrate for the whole christmas vibe though.

i have a question. a lot of (mostly) christian people around here wear shirts made by their church youth group. so if they were in france, they wouldn't be allowed to wear it? i'm just wondering because i'm curious.. i didn't know about this. it's so interesting!

That was interesting, right ?
As for your question, that's a real good question. We don't have church youth groups here. And if it's directly religious, then, I suppose no, they wouldn't be allowed to wear it. You must be completely neutral in terms of religious beliefs so that you don't influence the others (or cause discrimination), that's what the law says so I think that kind of groups can be considered as an influence.

My friend Jen lives in Georgia so I suppose things are even different from your side of the United States. That's also something that fascinates me about your country.
