Still recovering from the vision of a certain face

A question popped into my head : what is the most romantic book you have ever read? I need to read something romantic right now. Maybe in two weeks, this sudden desire will be gone but now, I know, I'd really enjoy it. I'm reading Revolutionary Road which is not exactly what you could call romantic. It's raining and dark outside and I don't like ( Read more... )

Check out The History of Love by Nicole Krauss. I cried at the ending! Also, for a short, sweet illustrated book, try The Man With the Dancing Eyes by Sophie Dahl.

This is a good question! I must think about it/go stare at my bookshelves for a bit. I will get back to you.

I am sort of dying to read Revolutionary Road, though. Ah, if only I had the time.

I count on you !!! Thanks a lot for your precious help, I know can trust you.
I went back to WH SMITH yesterday but they had nothing by John Green. I was surprised ! I'll have to order it from Amazon. I saw John Green's books are translated into French so he must be really good :) Thanks again for your recommendations ! My friends don't read that much so it's great to have someone to share books with :)

Yes ! And so was I ! I'm on holiday right now so I decided to forget my school books for a while.

I may have already asked you/maybe we've already discussed it, I can't remember, but have you ever read The Pursuit of Love by Nancy Mitford? It might be exactly what you are looking for right now. And if you love that, then read it's companion novel, Love in Cold Climate. That's my suggestion(s) :o)

Right now (in addition to my school books (I have to allow myself at least one book for pleasure), I'm reading Lauren Bacall's By Myself and Then Some--but 1957 is coming up, and that's the year Bogie dies. I predict I will be quite sorrowful when I reach that point in the book.

Ohh That must be so interesting!! When you'll have some time, you'll have to update the list of books you've read this year ! That's really interesting to see what the others are reading !

I cannot believe I have never been to Ladurée ... I mean of course I haven't visited France yet ... but everyone seems to be talking about that gorgeous Ladurée. :( :( Stop making me feel jealous !! :P Just kidding, hehe, what do macarons taste?

Anyway, the most romantic book ever? You should read A Walk to Remember, or The Notebook - oh wait wait, no no read Dear John, by Nicholas Sparks. He's fucking amazing, and the books all above are by him, and those books are really beautiful. I loved them.

But my favourite book is Shantaram - it's very interesting, cultural and of course LONG. :P

You really should go there one day !!!! It's a fantastic experience ! You can't describe it to be honnest, it's unique. It's very fruity and crisp. It is like a small sandwich.

Oh yes Nicholas Sparks is a romantic author I agree. I read A walk to remember when I was younger and yes ... that was romantic. Thanks a lot for the recommendation !!! :D
Oh thanks ! I'll have to check this one out !!! :D
