this was nice

when i told my mom she cried instantly & she only knew Ed from the few moments they chatted at the gas station... she would always share her Virginia super slim cigarettes with him even though they looked like toothpicks in his hand... when she quit smoking for good she gave him her last pack... she also had a tiny pen which she told me ed just picked up out her lap n asked if he could have it. lol she told me she was sad & always hoped i would marry him

my dad told me he once gave Ed a bucket of beer... only ask Ed asked "who's beer is that in the back of ur truck?" my dad said "yours if you want it" he said he never seen Ed smile so big... that day Ed received 3 beers in a bucket...

hahaha. i remember ed telling me people used to randomly bring him beer at the gas station, i wonder if that was your dad. the story my mom keeps bringing up is about the farmers market- she used to go to his stand for apples and he would keep piling her bag up and he'd shush her and tell her it was all right. i've been thinking about how people used to give him things like that, how a guy he knew solely from the gas station lent him his car to borrow for a night, etc.
