Oh, oh...
That gives the words "Devil inside" a new meaning. I'm curious what Dean has thought to let this demon take him. There must be something heavy on his mind.

Don't let us wait till the next update so long again, please?

LOL. I think Dean has a lot of good reasons for making the deal with the Astaroth, and there is a level of truth in what Astaroth said - that John and Sam are biased in a lot of ways that mean they cannot understand some options that are out there, or motivations because they only see things a certain way. It's very different from the direction the show is going in, where Sam is getting the line between good and bad totally blurred. I don't know if the line is as fuzzy here, I think it's still pretty clear, but I think Dean understands that he's made sacrifices already and that some more sacrifices are going to have to be made on his part in order to continue dealing with the things heading their way. I see it as a step for Dean, toward looking after himself, rather than being completely dependent on Sam and I think that's a good thing. This might be a bit threatening for Sam, though because he's so much like his dad. And then there's that whole demon thing that he is just not in a place to comprehend. ^_ ( ... )

This was awesome!
I can't wait to see what Dean's "reasons" are for inviting the demon into himself.

Thank-you. I don't think Dean has solid uncontestable reasons (at least to Sam) as to why he did what he did. Whatever his reasoning, Sam is always going to think that there was a different or better way to go about getting the same result -- like what Astaroth said, Sam's a bit prejudiced (rightfully?) It's funny because I had this kinda roughly sketched in my head when I started it, but now it's running alongside the show, and man the roles are completely reversed! Here Dean is the one embracing a more ambiguous path, and Sam is completely against it. Mind you, things are not as dire here (no apocalypse!)

mwaahaa haa. Astaroth knows quite a bit about quite a lot. Dean is in a position to learn quite a fair amount but maybe that won't happen, given that Sam's interrupting their deal...
