I totally agree with the idea of structured fairness in negotiations. I also totally hear you on the lack of training... it would be really nice if we had some sort of cultural understanding or trope under which salary negotiations worked. From my reading of the internet and discussions with others, it just seems willynilly and uncomfortable for just about everyone.
