Well, I actually flew back from Milwaukee on Monday night, but yesterday was completely given to catching up at work and hurried last-minute preparation for teaching a class that I was almost 100% certain was going to be cancelled for low enrollment ( Read more... )

Thanks! You'd be even more welcome than usual, since I'm finding it really WEIRD to teach a class composed entirely of male students (I've always had at least a third of my class composed of women, and usually they're in the majority).

This single-gender class composition might put a whole new spin on my usual way of covering things like 1 Timothy 2:9-15 (the bit where Paul or one of his later disciples says that women should be silent in church, because Eve was entirely responsible for the Fall!).

You're welcome! Definitely see "Krrish", if you can (I was moved and entertained by it, in spite of -- or perhaps in part because of -- how much it seemed to have borrowed from a wide variety of unlikely films, from "The Matrix" and "Paycheck" and "Starman" to "Twins" and "George of the Jungle", but with intriguing touches of Hindu mythology, as well!).

You sound like you had a good break. And your class will be fine. If any of them are arseholes you can crush them with your scholarship, or possibly a brick.
