Liverpool 10k

Oct 07, 2007 15:00

Ran the Liverpool 10k this morning. I've not got the proper time for it yet, but I undoubtedly did better than at the last one, what with staying upright for the entirety of the course and not pulling, twisting or otherwise damaging any body parts.

My sub-50' time still eludes me, though. )

Woo! *cheers you*

That's some achievement there. Well done! I would've come in behind the one-legged pensioners with asthma. I am in some considerable awe.

Ah, but that would have been a good result.

Whenever I finish I always find a bunch of them sitting around barely out of breath, which would seem to indicate they'd finished long before me...Thank you.

Hey, congratulations. This is good. Even without the time, running through without any bigger pain is a great step. Go!you.

Danke! Meant to ask you, what did you think of Hanka (can't spell her surname without looking, lol!) winning the time trial at the worlds? I thought she was brilliant. She must have been completely washed out at the end, she couldn't even get her foot out of the pedal cleat when she stopped!

I was quite impressed with gli Azzurri, since we managed to get both the men's and the women's road race.

That was awesome. I must admit I didn't watch it, but I saw her in several sports shows afterwards and she is just great. I love that she can do everything on a bike apparently. Cross, street and whatever Bahnfahren (this indoors thingie) is called in English. Though I think indoors is a bit of her weakness.

So when it comes to cycling you are all Italien? Well, okay, there aren't all that many Brits out there yet. But they are catching up fast.

*has already taken down her cycling icon because she only uses it for The Tour*

I've no idea what the indoor thingie is called in English either, I'm an old fuddie-duddie, I'm only interested in road cycling. *g*

And no, I'm not all Italien really, I enjoyed watching Emma battling it around the course and Bellis winning his bronze medal. I really like Wiggins, but he does much better on track, we'll have to see what he's like next year when he starts racing with T-mobile. You seem to have collected all the best English riders in Germany! And as for poor Millar, he is a bit like Tim Henman, here they always expect him to do miracles and well, he does what he can, that's all I can say.

It's just that I fell in love with cycling as a child in Italy, and still have lots of love for our athletes (who also have the best kit *bg*) so it's nice to see them win.

YAY YOU!!!

I am very impressed. Running for two minutes makes me puffed. But then, i am going to the gym and KEEPING ON running for two minutes. Maybe one day I'll get to three.

If it's any help, the first 5 minutes are the worst. Try it, honestly. You'll be surprised. I know I was.
