Hi there,

sorry for the slow response. My family is doing well. He is still trying to raise that family of road runners and my mom is now a cacti farmer. She sells them for $2 each. I've been invited to a convention in Cali but there's been tons of mimi quakes as of late and they are predicting an oh shit one. Jeremy and Nathen took Skip and Damain to watch the last SW movie. Damian...as you can tell.....adores darth vader. Hmmmm....my sons are so.....dark?

Man, that posting was intense. I can only imagine what the real deal was like.

I wouldn't sweat the shitty Arabic. Most people I've talked with in other countries (the very few I've visited, that is) seem impressed that somebody would at least give it a shot to communicate with them in their native tongue rather than just Gradually Start To Speak A Little LOUder IN ENGlish AT THEM AS IF THAT MIGHT HELP THEM UNDERSTAND...

Plus, given the situation, I think she probably appreciated the sentiment even more than a night clerk at a hostel in Munich.

Which is a very nice city, by the way, if you decide to do the Eastern Europe tour '05. Also, Amsterdam is fun as hell. Go there, meet up with a group of folks, get a little stoned, and post-munchies, go have some Indonesian food family-style. That's my suggestion/vote.

man i don't know what to think about the whole deal. Our command structure is fuckin insane. Countless examples of that. Bring in their Personal Securiy Details and you got infinite examples of retardation. I literally hate going out of the wire with anyone but other scouts, they just bring in so many fucked up variables.

BTW: the rumor here on the FOB is that my platoon beat that family. Fuckin bastards. And it seems our only reason for rushing into that op was that our target was also a special forces target and our loverly general rhodheaver wanted a first shot at him. bleh.

Proof of Point one: No plan survives contact with friendlies, let alone the enemy.
Proof of point two: If you can keep your head while all around you are loosing theirs, you will make it out alive.
Good work, soldier! Hoo-AHHHHH! (I mean that!)
Way to stay frosty and in control. Most importantly, way to stay human and respectful.
Keep up the good works, keep your head down, stay alive, and party with the eastern europeans, they are wild-and-ka-razy-guys! Just my vote.

berlin, would be nice. but if you want to chill on a beach go with your instincts. whatever you do, don't come back home until it's for good. everyone will worry a whole lot less.

I'm just glad there's people like you there to keep things at least a little sane, but I'd rather have you be home and safe. Heck, I wish we hadn't butted our noses in to begin with. Stop selling the oil from Alaska and Texas and we'd probably have enough without buying any. Further the technologies for alternate cars and we'd definitely have enough. Sometimes, even though I love America, I hate what America does.

meh, politics aside, I still don't understand our reluctance to explore alternative fuels...hmmm gotta love status quo.
