I read this about 20 minutes after you posted it, but I had no time to comment it. Soooo; I seriously think I missed something because WHEN DID DUMBLES BECOME A DEATH EATER?! I mean apart from Sirius' having Remus' mother show him how he could die - I read it there. I looked through the whole thing and couldn't find it. It just reads like it had been mentioned other than that. Am I not looking hard enough? And, turning Dumbledore into a Death Eater? - MAGIC! Goddamn, that last line - chills, all down my spine. Incredible work, again, as always. Am eagerly awaiting the next bit. (Imagine bouncing-with-excitement-puppy eager) And, as a PS, you said above (I nearly said below) that you hate Dumbles. May I ask why?
Dumbles became a DE... well, Sirius finally announces his assumption in the chapter when Harry is kidnapped... whenever that was. And yes, it was in one of his death scenes, but Sirius killed Dumbles first.
I really, really love the idea of a power position being a double agent, it totally twists everything we assume. Why do I hate Dumbledore? Mostly because I'm a teacher and I try to protect my kids from as much as possible... and Dumbledore does the opposite. He sort of sets Harry up to fail. He knows from before the kid is born that he's going to be a target and instead of preparing Harry for that, he sort of lets him float through life. I mean, honestly, the boy has just watched another student be murdered by his dad's best friend... and Dumbles doesn't send him with Sirius to Remus or with the Weasley's... all people who love and would protect him... he sends him back into an abusive situation where no one has ever checked in on him! Friggin' idiot. Sirius would have killed him in either situation, I think. Figgin' moron

It's really quite terrible that I never thought of it that way, seriously. Given, I was a bit whoafuckthat in regards to Harry being a horcrux in DH. I was a bit surprised that Dumbledore more or less sent him to the slaughter, completely umprepared. But I never looked so much at it as it kind of was, Dumbledore spending years training Harry to die. He knew for quite a while that Harry was the final horcrux but never prepared him in any way, shape or form. I normally read between the lines, but I'm going to have to say I was being dense, to the point of brick. And I LOVE that you made Dumbledore of all people a Death Eater, it is the ULTIMATE SCREW-OVER! -That may or may not make any sense. Australian Idol is playing in my right ear and seriously, it's like a car crash; you don't want to hear it but you just can't tune out or even change the channel. I just can't concentrate.
