Fic: The Rising of Thanatos

This is part four... which might be a little heavy in the cheesyness factor, but I DON'T CARE. And, my spec-freakin'-tacular betas liked it too. However, I added stuff that brighty18 and comestodecember haven't seen (because I get crazy impatient and post without having someone read through my last minute edits). Therefore, if there are glaring errors, don't blame them ( Read more... )

it's peter, you... aaargh. how come they're not suspecting him already. :/ that'd mess up with the story, i guess.

i didn't think it was too cheesy, the mood was optimistic but still subdued. though i can't help but think that this adoption thing will be a Bad Idea. though it seems very IC of sirius to make an impulsive decision like that.

Harry looks at the round-faced boy in deep concentration.

“Baby,” he says assertively.

heh, that was cute. :]

Remus suspects... but I think maybe Sirius is just ignorant. I mean, really, how did they miss it in canon?

As for the Bad Idea... we'll see... I'm not sure that their happy little family will all survive to the conclusion of the tale...

Thanks for reading! (As always...)

Yeah, secretly I do.

In truth, I have no idea where this is going. The last battle scene is written. However, points between that and what happens thereafter... who knows.

Glad to see this chapter. I love that the puppies have adopted Neville, but if I were in the order I'd be muttering that Voldemort's chosen target isn't the best person to be taking care of an infant.

Oh god, it's raining insane outside. Better bring the plants in.

That's better. Just had a power failure for 2.5 hours. I think the hailstorm has pulp-ified my potted herbs. Who wants pesto?

Peter is creeping me increasingly, but it's just too easy for him to be the spy, or at least the only spy.

I love that you think this much into who is the spy. Do you want there to be a second spy? Are you suggesting that you have more doubts? Gah, I can't wait to see your predictions after you read next chapter...

Thanks... you're awesome. How are finals?

Finals are over, thank the gods! Now I'm being lazy and watching Torchwood all the time :)

I WANT there to be no spies so that everyone can live happily ever after. That's unlikely, so who can it be?

I think it is safe to rule out Sirius because of things he's said and done. Ditto Remus; he has expressed enough frustration in his thoughts about the problems caused by the spy. James and Lily? Their behavior isn't suspicious enough and I can't think of any motive. Peter's behavior is TOO suspicious. That leaves the rest of the order...

The possibility that there are multiple spies is intriguing, and suggests two (or more) people with different motivations are providing different information to possible multiple entities outside the order. Peter is likely to be one of them, or is being manipulated by the other one.

I'll have to go back and re-examine everyone's words to have a better idea. But if there are more clues in the next chapter, bring it! Please!

If I promise a mildly happy ending... will that appease you?

*squees wildly* Oh! Baby!Neville! That is so very cute. And Peter is seriously creepy. It's easy to see from the outside, but I guess when you've known someone for years as the Marauders have, you make excuses for them and it just wouldn't occur to you that they could be a spy.

Still loving this! xx

I think maybe I make Peter a little too obvious for us. I guess I just assume that we all know he's the traitor and then I immediately write him like that. Then again... he's about to become Pervy Peter in Part 5... so then you'll reeeaaalllly get creeped out.

I like Neville, I always felt so badly for he and Harry. Their childhoods were so very different than what their parents envisioned for them...

Thanks again my friend! How are things in your world?

Interesting! The conversation concerning the goldfish is very similar to one my Sirius and Remus had after Sirius held Harry for the first time and determined that he wanted one too. (And then he proceeded to calculate exactly how much polyjuice potion he would need to brew to become a woman for that long...yeah. ::shakes head:: )

Anyway, yay for more! :D

Actually, it was a role-play between myself and thatonefangirl. It was never really transcribed into story form, and it's not posted anywhere on the 'net. :[ I do have a bit of my stuff on a writing LJ though, if you're interested. I'm nowhere near as good as rev02a though. :3;;;;

I'd bat you over the head if I could. No self insults... As for our similar brilliance, I will be grateful to have a share in the goldfish
