Peter grins at James. “Got the camera? It’s the first Marauder child.”
“James,” Sirius whispers, and his best friend turns. “You’ll be the godfather of this first.”
The shell cracks away.
“ALRIGHT!” James yells in celebration. “I’m the godfather of a tyrannosaurus!”
“Momma?” it croaks.
Remus’ eyes open exponentially larger. Sirius leans over and scoops the baby dinosaur up. Lily hands him a yellow receiving blanket, which Sirius wraps around the previously-believed-to-be-extinct reptile.
“Moony,” he whispers, cautiously, “it looks just like my mother.”
Ah! I'm in fandom heaven! And this also serves to remind me how wise I am not to have had children......
