K, I seriously enjoy reading your thoughts on media. I was going to hold off on this one until it got to DVD (even though I am a big fan of David Fincher's oeuvre*), but you have sealed the deal for me catching this one at a theater this weekend.

Aw, thank you! I'm so glad you enjoy reading my scattered thoughts. I really did enjoy both things, even though they grossed me out and did some incredibly weird mental squick stuff. It's a rare piece of work that does it that these days.

Just FYI: there is one incredibly violent/disturbing scene towards the end. I think you'll know when it's coming. GAH.

I did not read the book but I watched the movie. I was underwhelmed and felt little empathy for any of the main characters. And yes, there's humor, but there's a lack of joy in the more horrific aspects of the film.
