Why did I find this post when flickr was down? I wanna see!
Your weekend sounds like it was super awesome AND super exhausting, which seems to be what everyone who goes to Comic Con gets out of it. Though I still hope I get to go someday, for now I am enjoying peeps' reports vicariously.
I'm sorry there was too much zombie stuff for you. I'm sure that in a year or so the trend will have moved on to something else can it be Lovecraftian eldritch horrors?!
I love your SDCC posts. I don't ever want to go, but I love watching. :)
You may already know, but re your phobia - next year's SDCC may be worse.
See (trigger reference warning):
Mira Grant, who writes the series of zombie books starting with Feed, set the Rising in her world in 2014. And she released a short story about one of the early outbreaks being Comic Con 2014. So, uh, fans may or may not run with that.
Thanks for reading! I'm glad to hear that you enjoy them. :)
Re: next year, I'm aware of this potential issue--Yebisu has started reading the Grant books, and loves them. (I've been reading her other, non-zombie series, which is excellent, BTW.) I think that as long as people dressed or made up like that stay away from me, or leave when I ask them to, it will be OK. If I can put physical distance between myself and them, it usually diffuses any build-up to panic attack. In the meantime, I'll keep up with my coping strategies and cross my fingers that my anxieties lessen over the year. :p
