- I guess because he didn't need tools to master magic and was a master of illusion. My interpretation is that in Asgard you can study magic like science, and to equal Thor's strength Loki spent his life mastering magic so he could best everyone. I mean, there's no way normal people can understand Einstein level physics in our world is there? So I guess with Loki it's like that but with magic.

As for Loki and magic, I guess that makes sense. I was just surprised that he was able to hold his own against Thor in combat, then, if he had devoted his whole life to the study of illusion (presumably, there'd be no time for combat training in that?). Maybe it was his Frost Giant genes coming out.
I am more excited than I thought I would be for X-Men. James MacAvoy looks like he'll do the role great justice and the setting may turn out to be really, really nifty. So, yay! :)

I imagine that combat training was mandatory for an heir to the throne, especially for a notorious warrior city like Asgard. In my head Loki studies magic secretly, or at least while Thor was off playing and being awesome :D
JAMES MCAVOY IS GOD! Even if the film looked crap I would legit see it just for him :D But yeah, I like the setting too :D
