I had held off on writing this until now because I thought there might be a couple more books or movies that might squeeze their way onto this list or that; however, my plans for an additional movie were squashed when my Mom got sick last weekend, and instead of reading Meaningful Books, I've gotten on a trashy literature binge again that really ( Read more... )

I <3 "The Middle" by JEW. I always smile when I hear it! It makes me think of happier days as a freshman in undergrad. ;)

This year, I loved UnLunDun by China Mieville

Ooooh, as if I didn't have enough to read, I really really want to reread now. (I still remember how initially disappointed I was that China was inexplicably failing at YA with this awful Mary Sue of a heroine! But he fools me all the time, so it was no surprise I fell for it.)

And I'm curious about 46bliss, since you seem to listen to so much of them yet they don't have a wiki page (that I can find.) Are they jpop?

I liked the heroine switcheroo thing, too. :D

46bliss is electronica that has popped up several soundtracks I own (most notably the Veronica Mars OST). I actually have no idea who they are and just love the music a lot.

I'd have to put Claymore and XXX-holic on the list for myself. S even knows that I like XXX-holic without having to ask me the name of that manga anymore. ;)

Claymore is definitely good, but I want to be more up on the story than I am now (stalled at Vol. 3, I think.)
