Art is in the eye of the beholder, the hard part is sticking it in there.

So how was it? I was physically incapacitated and N. was moving, so we didn't go.

It was alright. it was good to see some people again, and their was some decent art at good prices.

On the otherhand Fucked Up and the Viletones cancelled which was a major bummer.

Yeah, I don't know if there was any drama involved, but it was disapointing.

Not bad at all! When they're taken out of the overwhelming environment of the auction, they look really nice!

I bought a photo of an alley with a tree but didn't stay til the end, so will still have to get it. Also got one of Stefan's gorgeous posters and a calendar. As a notorious cheapskate, i definitely needed some wine to loosen the strings on my pocketbook.

Yeah, I'm the most happy with the Mura print. The colours are really bright and sharp in real life (unlike my crappy cell phone photo of it).

And yes, combining alcohol and auctions is always a good idea! All said though I got off pretty light coming under $100 for all three pieces.

I'm not surprised. It does kind of have that 80's super-busy punk rock feel to it. It even has genuine cut-and-paste incorporated into the painting, which you can't see in the photo. Unfortunately I think some of the cut and pasted strips came off and that's why there's all those white rectangles on the left of the painting, but I kind of like the balance that the white spaces help give the painting as a whole.
