Alright, I don't know about all of you, but I could use a starting point.

What do you like in your fanfic?

Do you like it hot? Do you like it plotty? Are you ITCHING for a DW crossover? Missing scenes? Missing epilogues? WHAT DO YOU WANT FROM ME?

Hey, go ahead and say who you're writing for -- you can get some specifics about the books requested, and your requesters' tastes!

Hello anonymous person who is writing for me!

I'm picky when it comes to these books, but I love all different kinds of fanfic, so whatever your strength is, go for it. There aren't any characters I really dislike, but I like Jack more than anyone else, of course. Here are some of my book-related preferences.

Trace Memory: I thought this book was one of the best tie-in novels. The only part I didn't like were the cardboard, stereotypical Russian villains. There's the missing Jack/Michael sex scene that would be awesome to see filled in. Or more flashbacks to the 1960s? Humanize the Russians? Coda/epilogue?

Almost Perfect: I wanted to like this book but I didn't. I wrote a post on it here: "Almost Perfect is Terrible". You could go serious or just write some hot stuff. I like fanfic based on Almost Perfect much better than the book itself ( ... )

I'm gonna follow azn_jack_fiend's lead and make a post about my preferences rather than asking questions out into the ether, just because I don't know what to ask and I'd really rather if the person I'm writing for did things this way (if they do anything at all), than me asking for approval on an idea. ALSO I LIKE TALKING ABOUT MYSELF. HAHA!

I like it atmospheric and strange and quiet.

I'm a romantic, but I like things bittersweet, understated, or tragic. I like fluff if it's funny and unexpected, or if it has a bite to it.

I like Jack and Ianto, but not necessarily together. (Although together is totally awesome, as well.) I'm also on a big Captain John kick, right now, and I don't think he's in any of the novels either (if he is please correct me so I can buy them POST HASTE) so please feel free to shoehorn him in if that's your fancy.

You can feel free to disregard all this. But it's a starting point if you're stuck.

DEAR heddychaa,

you listed Consequences as something you'd like to see something from. The problem is that there's a lot of stories in Consequences..

is there any story you'd in particular like to have a tie-in story for?

or any two or three stories?

or any stories that you don't like much at all?

Lulabelle:

I am completely stumped as to what I should write about. do you have any interests in the three books you suggested? Are you a shipper? Are you in love with Agnes and George Sanderson? Can I write about Huw the lorry driver for 2000 words?

Oh dear. I don't remember Huw... But if you've got a great idea for him, go for it. :D

I'm not much of a shipper. I love Agnes, not George so much, though his ship kind of rocked. So maybe I am a shipper. Anyone/Sanderson's ship. NC-17. Go. (Just kidding. Unless you have a good idea.)

I'm pretty easy. Just have fun with it. :)
