Looking at my friend's feed on here, it is almost entirely reposts of people's blogs, XKCDs, and a few posts by science fiction writers on their personal pages. I wonder how far I'd have to page back to find a friend's non-professional lj presence?

Answer, only one page it turns out. Several friends have posts back there (granted one is an active SF community person).

I comment on people's stuff. I have a handful of friends who use it for long form ranting/depressing posts that don't seem to fit on Facebook. Plus it's a much smaller audience. heh.

Yeah, the smaller audience is a good thing for some things. I miss the communities here.
