[Only talking to her over the phone since she turned into an adult, he really doesn't recognize her. But something in the back of his head is saying it's Margot, so, he just skips asking.]
[It doesn't even occur to her that he might not recognize her -- she's looked like this at home for a while now. The whole timewarp thing is still relatively new.]
[Heeeey, guess who's been staring and looking at the dairy place from afar, too? Hughes'll be out there staring with a hand on his chin for just a moment to look at the building. Hopefully no one will take him by surprise on his second time staring at this place.
Well, mainly the milkman. He doesn't want to talk to the milkman.]
[Oh my, look at that! A drone is holding Woody and chatting with her friend about where this doll might have come from. Unfortunately, the drones aren't listening to Woody pleading with them to put him down, because to them he's simply a doll.]
Oh, look at this, Bethanie! A cowboy doll just laying around! I wonder what poor boy dropped it here in the street.
Hey--! Put me down...! I'm not just a doll, all right? Why aren't you listening to anything I'm saying?!
[Of all the things she expects to see today, a talking cowboy doll is not one of them.
It takes Margot a couple of seconds to process this before she heads over to the drone children, face morphing into an expression of delighted surprise.]
Oh, thank you so much, sweetie! You found my little boy's doll! He's been crying all day looking for it and he'll be so pleased to have it back!
Gosh, then it's a good thing we found him, ma'am! He was just sitting on the sidewalk. It would have been a sorry day for your son if someone got him.
[The drone is fortunately a kind one, and holds up the cowboy doll. As she talks, woody looks at Margot in the child's hand, a little awed; slowly, a little plastic hand comes up and he waves sheepishly.]
[Margot looks back down at the doll, bemused, and twitches her fingers in a half-wave. As he's offered up, she (very gently) takes him and tucks him into her purse as if he were nothing but a toy.]
Well I'm glad that you got to him first! I had better get it home right away. Thank you again!
[And with that she turns, ducking down a side street to peer into her bag.]

Pity it's not open, huh? I could have done with some ice cream.

Eh--!!
[And he breathes a sigh of relief.]
You almost gave me a heart attack, miss!

Sorry!
[Looks anything, but, though.]
Didn't think you were quite that lost in thought.
