I finally got my period (44 days, beat that if you can!) and have been using these new pads I made. So exciting. Although not half as exciting as actually having a washer and dryer and being able to wash your pads every day

Not the book, which would be a million times cooler, but some of the rejected patterns were instead put in the Stitch n Bitch one page a day calendar. It's like one pattern a week or something and I submitted a very simple headband and armwarmer combo I never thought would be accepted. So yay. I'm way more excited than I should be, but oh well. It's still neat!
I had a period skip a month so I think I've got you beat! And it's funny cuz I had JUST bought new cloth pads and it took forever before I got to try them out!
And congrats on your pattern! That's a big deal! Where is it going to be published?
When I was eating disorder, back in high school I had it skip a full year. But that doesn't count. Now that I'm of normal weight I think that 53 days is my longest pause. It's just funny because ever since Aaron had his hysto and I was the only one in the house producing female hormones I have been dead on regular, 28-30 days every time. I've never been that regular in my life. And then I left and it immediately started skipping!
The pattern will be in the Stitch n Bitch one page a day calendar of 2008. Some of the stuff that wasn't good enough for the new S'n'B book was accepted into the calendar instead, and mine was one of them. Not a huge deal really, because there is a pattern a week, but I'm still excited!
I've got you and nebula1500 both beat. Mine used to be very very irregular. It has skipped 2-3 months at a time actually. That was when they doc tried to fix it with meds and found out that I can't take those pills because they were doing more damage than good. Since I've gotten older it is a bit more regular. It has skipped about 2 weeks and been a little weird but nothing like before. I've been wanting to try cloth but am not sure about it due to laundry arrangements.
Congrats on the pattern :) Yay! *does happy dance for you* :)
Cloth pads is a little tricky if you don't have your own washer and dryer. Right now I live with my parents, so I just do a load every night during my period (mom is just happy to get help with the laundry!). Before I used to let the pads soak in cold water overnight and then I just washed them up in the sink with some detergent and let them hang to dry so I could use them several times during the same period, and then washed them in the machine at the end of my period. If that's too much work for you you could always buy just a couple of pads and try it out. Personally I love it, because they're so comfy it feels like not wearing anything and sometimes I even have to check that I'm wearing a pad and aren't leaking everwhere! I very much recommend it. :)
