Summary: Gwen's had enough
A/N: A bit weak but I tried. Written for day three at
horizonssing They’ve been avoiding each other all week and really Gwen wouldn’t mind, except that they’re being rather… loud about it and it’s beginning to get on her nerves. She looks up as Jack emerges from his office, Ianto, on the other side of the main room, suddenly discovers a pile of papers which apparently need to be returned to the archives right this instant. It’s been yet another day filled with slamming doors, stomping feet, and thinly veiled jibes, not to mention the icy glares and she’s had just about enough of the pair of them.
“Oh, for heaven’s sake you two!” They both stop dead, staring at her, “How much longer is this going to go on for?”
Ianto looks away first, “I don’t know what you mean.” He mutters.
Jack’s expression says it’s none of her business but she has to work with them, doesn’t she?
“Oh, come off it Ianto, you’ve barely said a civil word to each other in days. What did he do this time?”
“Hey!” Jack is at the bottom of the steps now, the three of them forming an uneasy triangle. “Why does everyone automatically assume it’s my fault?”
“Because it usually is.” Gwen snaps without so much as glancing in his direction. “Ianto?”
Ianto studies his papers for a long moment and then looks up, frowning. “Actually,” he says quietly, tone slightly incredulous, “I don’t remember.”
Gwen blinks in surprise then turns to Jack. “Any idea?” She asks him.
Jack is watching Ianto in bewilderment. “Nope,” he says, turning to Gwen with a laugh. “Not a clue!”
Gwen wants to scream, or bash their heads together at the very least. “Well then,” she says with a tight smile, “it can’t have been all that important, can it?”
