I hate when I have to struggle not to scold commenters on Shawn Harris' blog. I think it's wrong of them to criticize him for his writing style (so over the top it's decidedly deliberate) or for doing what they see as begging for us to tell him how amazing he and his band are. He comes off as just curious, yeah--I mean, considering that there are people who publicly say what he does isn't good in reviews and the like as well as people who say good things... I mean, it's easy to get insecure when writing fic and half the time the negative reviews don't even show up on the thing itself. Makes sense he'd wonder.
