Old School Dungeon

Been trying out some more mapping in GIMP. This time I made a classic dungeon, following this tutorial. This one was pretty easy, much less fiddly than the last one I tried. Nice. Aren't there tools ("apps" I guess they call them now days) for just making such maps? - I always find GIMP so frustrating. When I used to play old-school dungeon crawl games (with the "3d" views that move in blocks, on a grid based map), I would ignore any auto-mapping feature, because half the fun was building up the map with pen and paper (yay for maths books).

Yeah there are. But it's useful making them myself. Partly because this means I can make them for my DnD group the next time we're doing a deathtrap dungeon, and partly because I'm trying to learn how to use GIMP in general. I can wait to be able to make decent icons.

Recently got accepted for a distance GIS Masters actually. Going to be breathing mapping software soon!
