Children's marketing is depressingly gendered. There's heaps of research to show it, and now there's also this blog post, which is where the image below is stolen from. Really, this is all I ever think about (well... mostly).

I was in an op-shop today and a father was saying to his son "you don't want that, it's girly" (regarding toys I think, and clothes - he did the same type of thing twice). I was thinking, OH MY GOD! Can't you see what you're doing!?

Personally, I would have gone crazy for BATTLE flowers as a little boy, with ultimate action POWER! (Flower power for girls, power flower for boys - it's a yin-yang thing). Ooo Magic FRIENDSHIP pirates of LOVE! Glitter heavy artillery BABIES. It's all in the marketing.

Ok, now I want some Glitter heavy artillery BABIES! No idea what they'd look like - bratz dolls in cameo with sparkly guns? But I'd buy them for the name alone. Clearly a niche market that's being overlooked here XD
