Jo in that capacity totally works for me, too.

This is one of those bits of character insight that feels so right, I'll probably experience a low-grade cognitive dissonance if canon actually varies from it. I can't imagine wanting to approach her character from any other angle at this point because this gives her a distinction she wouldn't have any other way for me.

Oh, too cool. Too. Cool.

For once, I don't really agree? :D

I'd rather have jo be a competent hunter, myself - okay, she's thin, but she can practice and agility and speed have their advantages. I don't know, I think she already is a hunter groupie, isn't she?
Maybe I have different connotations with the word groupie than you have.

:D

I'm all about her growing up to be a righteous hunter. In fact, I think she has the potential to out-badass her mom one day and I'm easily as scared of Ellen as Dean is.

Right now, though, because of her youth and inexperience, I can buy Jo as more groupie than rock star. She wants to be a hunter so much, but I don't think she has a clue yet about everything that's involved. That's because she's so young and because Ellen appears to have largely protected her from as much of that world as she could.

Besides, we haven't seen a character in that kind of role in this 'verse. More than anything, that's why I'm all over the idea. It's a novel new patch to explore because no one else has been in the position to have that kind of dynamic with any of the Winchesters so far. That's not to belittle or insult her character despite the unseemly aspects of being a groupie. That just fills out who she is at this point before she's had a little bit of Life Happen to her beyond losing her dad when she was a kid.

Totally true. Honestly, I'd watch a spin off with Ellen, Jo and Ash as the main leads *G* I can't wait for Thursday already!

That is an awesome idea, and yeah, it makes things click in a way they didn't before. I doubt they'll go there (explicitly) on the show, but given what they did in the diary thing, and her reactions to Gordon there, I can totally see it.

I should have hunted up that damned diary thing of hers by now. Is there any chance you have the link handy?

And, yeah, while I doubt they'll explicitly go there on the show, everything about her suddenly is all shiny and new for me. Dean doesn't need a younger sibling; he has Sam. Dean doesn't need another dysfunctional relationship; he has Cassie. Dean doesn't need a soulmate; he has the Metallicar. Dean doesn't need another loved one who dies; he has his parents. Dean doesn't even need another person to spark up sexual chemistry with; he can manage that with a stray goddamned thread hanging off his sleeve.

But put him as a hunter in a rockstar/groupie relationship with her? DUDE. I'M SO THERE. Even Dean/Jo porn no longer sounds unappealing if this is the context and, seriously, I never thought I'd be down with that.

Yes.

Because it has just enough sketch to it to fit the vibe it's giving off anyway, and Dean would so get off on the idea of having groupies.

Hunter groupie sounds good. She comes off as a bit of a tag-a-long little sister to me, though I have to watch this week's episode to see what they're going to end up doing with her.

ICON LOVE!

Also, yeah, the little sister thing has never quite done it for me. Friend did, but that won't happen until down the road if it happens at all. Hunter groupie takes what we've seen of her thus far to a whole new and acutally interesting place, though.

Man, I'm especially looking forward to this week's ep now.

I'm trying to figure out how old Jo is. She seems younger than Sam to me (though they might be the same age), and they had her playing video games, but that doesn't mean doodley because I know I'm older than she is and I still like playing kill the monster/games. :P

Forget Jo. Where do I sign up to be a hunter groupie?

We already are signed up, silly. It's in that book they keep in hell, you know, the one bound with human skin and written in blood? The ceiling demon's keeping an eye on it.

No shit, dude. Especially if the gig means getting to be hunter groupie for one of the Winchesters. Seriously. Can you think of anything sexier than getting tips on how kill while getting pleasantly drunk as the entirety of foreplay before going down on Dean in the Metallicar? (Because if you can, OMFG WHY HAVE YOU BEEN HOLDING OUT, YOU FILTHY h0r?)

I can't believe how much more intersesting and sexy Jo just got when defined as a hunter groupie. She's relevant to me now. So cool.
