Meta: SPN, we're totally Sam and Dean. AWESOME.

SPN fandom, I gotta give y'all yet more mad props.

Yeah, we now have an astonishingly reliable Hiatus Wank to expect whenever we have a stretch without new eps and, no, I don't know why the hell the Hiatus Wank always rolls on out on my damned day to code the spnnewsletter. What I do know is that as I worked my way through the entries on the watcher journal's ( Read more... )

meta, supernatural

I watched Supernatural this week. What was the thing their dad told Dean about Sam?

I like that you're at least interested enough to ask. That's a start.

He told Dean that Dean may have to kill Sam.

See how well my SPN fandom metaphor holds up?

It's not quite grabbing me the way Raines did (RAINES! I forgot to watch Raines last night -- damn those bastards at NBC for moving it) or the new Doctor Who and Torchwood (everyone's gay!), but it's interesting, because they're not taking the simple way out.

TW and the new Who are definitely two of my auxiliary fandoms. So much love for them. I need to catch up on Raines -- I seem to have a finite capacity for remembering what shows are interesting and when they come on.

SPN may or may not ever fully ring your bell, but I'll be dropping the DVRs in the mail on Monday so you can see how the character and myth arcs have progressed.

Also, Sammy has filled out a lot. Hello.

Aha, that makes total sense. Most of our wanking is usually immature he-said-she-said, the kind of arguing siblings have and usually forget the next morning. Which is better than the bitter grudge-wank that happens in other fandoms.

♥ SPN fandom (even if it wanks like clockwork during every hiatus *rolls eyes*)

Yeah. There's some astonishing malice shakin' down in other parts of the fannish 'verse. Even if the long-suspected bitching is all taking place under flock and filter, dude, at least we're keeping it in the family.

The Winchester boys would totally approve. Totally.

Clearly, our fandom rocks, even if it goes a bit wanktastic on occasion >.>

We have our sibling-squabble moments and, yeah, at some point we've all probably earned a place in the Special Trunk Seat (minus the weapons, of course.) After watching some of the other stuff shakin' down, though, I have even more respect and love for the folks in this fandom.

And I am totally Dean, because I'm not all pissy like the rest of y'all are. *koff*

Yeah, well, I'm Bobby (at least until John is back) and I'm totally gonna cuff the back of your head and make you go detail the Impala. To John's standards.

Word, dude. I have the exact same thought when I started seeing other stuff crop up. When SPN wanks, it's bitchy and kinda stupid and annoying, but it fades quickly. But that -- that other stuff going down elsewhere is mean. I much prefer our crazy sibling bitchfight fandom, thank you very much.

It was kind of a bracing moment for me to realize just how viciously wank can actually play out. A handful of shouty posts, some understandably bruised feelings, and probably a bit of modification to a few flists ain't got nothing on what a steel-caged deathmatch wank can actually become.

Besides, the icons that pop up during the Hiatus Wank really are hysterical, regardless of whether the Bitches or the Jerks are using them. :D
