Yeah, w-- [as he speaks, he starts to get up, and then realizes he can't. he breaks off, and looks down at his legs.] ... goddammit.

[after a moment, he takes a breath, and then experimentally twitches his foot, managing to tap it quite easily against the floor.] Obviously, this is going to be a gradual process... but at least it's going away... [under his breath. then, at a normal volume:] Yeah, we're out. Um, are you all right? That fall looked a bit nasty. [reaching for the crutches and slowly pulling himself to his feet.]
