This was perfectly gorgeous! I'm just imagining how much Yagyuu must have suffered along the way. :D

Yagyuu didn't suffer at all! He's a willing participant in things.

(Thank you!)

OH MY GOD, THE TEASING. Literary topo. Of course, that's what it's all about. I have to wonder if it started off as envy for Niou; I imagine him as someone who's always had a bit of trouble seeing things and behaving the way others do; that he's always felt a little bit outside the pale. Sanada's his opposite; moral, upright, organized (though still very much a teenaged mess!). What a focus that would be for Niou. First to tease, then to attract, but always, always a focus. What a midnight-under-the-cover-of-darkness dream come true for Niou, to have Sanada barge into his room and kiss him. No wonder he was so shocked. What an amazing gift you gave him, Allison! You really do love Niou, don't you? :-)

Topoi was tough. I know the plural is topoi, but WOULD YAGYUU? No, he likely wouldn't, but I figured I would get prodded for spelling it 'toposes' SO I CHOSE THE HIGH BROW ROUTE FOR ONCE!!!! DDDDDDDD:

But anyway, Sanada and Niou both win. For once. And Sanada took initiative, and it was about time and I am glad you enjoyed this as much as I did writing this, Veni! ^^

Ohhhh....Sanada.....and Niou. &hearts

Your Sanada always makes me feel so sorry for him, like he just needs a big hug. But, he would crush anyone who tried in to pulp, LOL.

"-therefore the literary topos of a boy terrorizing a girl with pranks, as proof that he actually is in love with her can be seen in chapter 4, page 56 when Hiro…"

Sanada's eyes snap open. His pen rolls across the desk.

No…

I actually clapped my hands and yelled, " YES! " Love the dawning realization from Sanada.

AND THE KISS! *swoons* They are such boys. So awkward and nervous but sincere. *sighs*

Wonderful fic! Happy Birthay to Niou, indeed. :)

That was just a perfect piece for Niou's birthday! I love how you went out of the whole Niou/Yagyuu pairing and put him with Sanada. Your characterization is always the best. The whole ending was totally just perfect. There wouldn't have been any other way to make it that awesome.

Love Niou in this. I wish I was as talented as you to give Niou a gift this great. All I did was buy a nice little cupcake from Wegmans for him.

It was Niou's birthday approaching, yet I had a hankering for Sanada. So it was an obvious choice, really ;)

Thank you so much!

(What flavour of cupcake? Something coloured and over-the-top ridiculous?)

It was a nice snowman one. I found some white frosting at home and made the guy a little rattail. I basically scraped the snowman's face off and gave it niou's face. And the pink hair tie to top it all off. Sadly I forgot to take pictures. I might make a batch of rikkai gingerbread men this year though.

Yay for Niou-kun! Because for someone as thick-headed as Sanada, you need to turn to basics. XDD
Poor Sanada. But deep inside, he'll miss all the pranks. :P
Also I loved how much of a grampa he is. Of course that the literature post 60's still counts.

Thanks for sharing this one, Allison!

Do "pure romance" novels count in Sanada's books? Naw, they're pretty trashy. And yet so addictive. Koizora, anyone? ;D

Thank you so much, Maye! Back to basics, indeed. Sometimes the best things are the simplest!
