"I have a huge crush on you" LJ comment spam

A new trend in spamming has many LiveJournal members seeing this comment to their old posts left by strange LJ accounts that have no entries:

Hey This is hard for me because I have never done anything like this.. but I have a huge crush on you. I have never been able to tell you for reasons which you would quickly identify as obvious if you knew ( Read more... )

I've had the exact same message from 'terlocandba (46.119.120.206)' and 'erfordibbtang (46.119.112.23)'
Can you say 'fickle much!'

Added to list, banned, reported!

Seems to me that these bots are mainly attracted to entries with many comments from different users. Only a few of my recent entries without comments have received Huge Crush spam.

Uhm, excuse me - if you ban/delete these people - will then, in my inbox, their comments appear as "You are not authorized to view this comment"? Because I just deleted all the spam and didn't worry too much about it, but when that text appeared, I panicked a bit...

Whoa, that's weird. In fact, that's Open a Support Request Weird. (Rest assured, you're not banning 'people'; you're banning one of thousands of fake accounts opened & operated by a script executed by zombie computers under the control of a few botnet crime lords.)

Looks like you're NOT the only LJ member to encounter this weirdness:
