Truer words have never been spoken in recent memory, concerning of course this ridiculous debate over the "legality" and "social ramifications" of same-sex marriage and stigmatizing of "gender deviancy", even within the visible LGBTQ community.

To be brief, the very definitions that our society uses to define "man" and "women" are in of themselves problematic, and it gets even more convoluted when it tries to define sexuality, gender/sex roles and gender identity.

My major fear as a "gay" man is that the popular dissatisfaction with the Obama administration (real or imagined) is fanning the flames of an already anti-progressive establishment (socially and politically) that would toss the baby out with the bathwater (so to speak) and send us back to the 90s as far as LGBTQ rights are concerned.

Though I live in Florida, I stand with you and would like to share you post with as many friends, contacts and organizations as I can. Would that be okay?

Certainly! This is a message that needs to get spread as far and wide as possible.

Nice speech. Who are they to decide that some citizen shouldn't have the same rights as others?

Looking good, Gab.

:sigh: The right tries to pretend they're all about small government and the freedom of the individual, but the "individual" in question is a white, cis-gendered, able-bodied, male of certain socioeconomic status. Pretty much everyone else, they want to screw over for cheap political points.

Have you heard of Seattle's (in)famous sex columnist, Dan Savage (started the It Gets Better project with his husband)? I like what he did to spearhead Rick Santorum's "Google problem."
