Grats, and I hope things are going well for you!

Quite right! I guess I'd summarize Gabriel as a gay male top (or maybe bi) born into a woman's body, which he's busily turning into a man's body. Feel free to correct that, of course, Gabriel. I'm curious how you'd amend it, if you would.

lol, let's go with "mostly gay versatile top." I just discovered Shakira the other day, and I have a raging crush on her hips all of a sudden.

Shelley: Good lord, you're turning into a het boy.
Me: No, no! Well, maybe, but she's fantastic! Incredibly hot and her music is amazing.
Shelley: Oh, never mind. If you like the music then you're def. gay.

Hah! Yup, all true. Shakira for the win.

Happy Birthday (in both the literal and metaphorical sense)! *throws gigantic handfuls of virtual confetti* If I could rent a band for the ceremony, I totally would, but that whole being on different continents thing kind of sucks for that.

Though I can offer you textual immortality - did Susan Napier send you a copy of her new book? Because you're *in* it, as Gabriel for practically a full page. If you don't have it, when I get back home I'll type up the portions you're in.

Oh wow, I had no idea! She might have sent me a copy, but it might have gone to my old address or my parents' address -- she certainly wouldn't be able to track me down in Japan. Badass! And I'd like to hear what she said.

What was the book even about? o_O

FANTASTIC! Fuck birthdays, I don't celebrate those at all anymore, but this is big. Perhaps a banquet with friends would be a good ceremony to mark the occasion ( ... )

Yeah, that was kind of my plan when I came back to the states too, and got weird looks for being slightly off the baseline for male.

"Sorry folks, I spent my formative years in Japan." *shrug*

Congratulations, Gabriel! [insert appropriate, non-trite-sounding phrase of support and happiness here]
