Peter and Sam's apt, Friday evening

There were certain things that Peter always remembered. The anniversary of him and Sam being more than friends was absolutely one of them.

Being Italian meant Peter wanted to celebrate with food. He picked up some of the best surf-n-turf that the city had to offer and a cheesecake to go with it.

Now all he needed was his boyfriend.

After a long day of classes (because he still hadn't figured out how not to have a load of classes on Fridays), Sam's first priority was to make sure that Scout got taken on a walk. The time outside was just as much for Sam's benefit, so he was feeling a lot more relaxed by the time he got home, especially when he was greeted by the smell of really good food. "Peter?" he called, freeing Scout from his leash. "Have you been cooking?"

"No, which just goes to show how much I love you," Peter teased. "It's an anniversary. I ordered in."

Sam stayed where he was for a moment, trying to remember the date, and then he broke into an even bigger grin. "Wow, three years," he said, almost to himself. "Whatever you ordered smells good."

The fact that Sam knew which anniversary it was was one of the many reasons why Peter loved him. "Three great years. And I went for surf and turf. Figured my sexy boyfriend would enjoy it."

Peter didn't mention where it came from. No point in making Sam fuss over how much it had cost.
