Wohoo, I haven't had to drug myself up for the first time in over a week! Well, I suppose I am technically still using my asthma inhaler, but that doesn't count because it is prescription. That's my story and I am sticking to it. Hurray for finally getting over the crud ( Read more... )

Congrats on surviving Black Friday in any capacity (when one works in retail). I also am glad to hear you're feeling better. :)

Thank you! Saturday I had actually started to wonder if I would ever feel healthy again, and it didn't help that time seemed to drag oooooooooooon and oooooooon and it was kind of a rough day to start with.

Hope you get your own things figured out, too; I know it's been a rough few weeks on your end as well. I have no advice what so ever, but I am totally game to give you as many virtual hugs as you want. ::sends lots of virtual hugs::

And here is an adorable puppy in a blanket, too.

Congrats on your Black Friday with the crud survival! Now the next day to dread (from my breif retail experience) is Christmas Eve.

I worked at a Halmark store in a mall and got off at 6:30 pm on Christmas Eve... It took (I swear I'm not exagerating) more than an hour to get out of the parking lot that night. THE PARKING LOT!!! I bought myself and Joe some hot coffees from the coffee stand as I was leaving the mall and they were cold by the time I reached his work 2 miles away. I'm surprised I didn't pee on myself seeing as that I was 9 months pregnant at the time (3 weeks before Lilly was born). LOL! :)

But you should be better at a stand-alone store rather than a mall with only 2 exits that involve a stop light.

If I can get away with it, I'm asking for Christmas Eve off. I worked Thanksgiving Day, so hopefully they'll give me off the next holiday.

Good luck with it! I hope you get it off.

Having experienced both, I would take the Mid-Morning Black Friday shoppers over the Half-Panicked Christmas Eve shoppers every time.
