I wonder if a wireless signal would transfer through the Stargate. I mean, radio signals and stuff do, right? So if, for example, the SGC crew got creative and hooked up a wireless router (assuming they could even get internet 28 levels down, but I figure they at *least* have to be able to get email, right?) in the Gate room, would it in turn be ( Read more... )

lool, the only flaw would be that the gate would be open during this web surfing, haha.

Well, yeah, this I knew, but I figure off world teams dial in every 6 hours or whatever with status reports/OMG, HAAAAAAALP! type check-ins, so I wouldn't put it past the non-team leaders/scientists to grab their lap tops and plop down on the Gate platform to get their internet fix while their CO is checking in. That gives them at least 5 minutes or so to check email at least.

Honestly, I'm totally picturing McKay hunched around his lap top while sitting next to the open gate snickering over the day's xkcd webcomic. Though I suppose since he's in Pegasus, Atlantis probably wouldn't have internet access... Ah, well, I am still amused.
