They're having a whole bunch of stuff going on this weekend in the Tri Cities. The big seller is the hydro races down at Columbia Park, with a bonus air show. I did kind of want to hit the air show, but not if it required braving the masses there for the boat races. Also, I think there is/was an admission fee ( Read more... )

It was a bit late, but yeah, we are right in the heart of summer now. Not really looking forward to the next three-four months, but such is life, and I have no problem hiding in the air conditioning since I've finished all the field work I was supposed to do back in May. :)

Sounds like our weather here. Blarg on the heat. At least you get cool nights.

That was one of my favorite things living out there, hot has Hades during the day but come night, crack your window open and enjoy the (relatively) cool breezes. Especially nice when I was working up at the camp, there was a little stream right outside our cabin so I'd fall asleep, the cool breeze blowing gently through our screen windows and the little brook burbling happily away. No better way to end your day.

Cool nights are a bonus, yeah. They haven't been cool enough to keep my room from getting kind of stuffy, though, even with the window open and the blinds drawn. It isn't fair, really - the air conditioning unit is right outside my window and I hear it rattling all night, but the air conditioning in my room is mediocre at best, so I still get stuffy.

However, even 80ish is better than 102, so I'll take it.

I was going to add that anything above 60 for an overnight doesn't really do me much good on the cooling front, which is where the overnight temps have been hovering. I'd rather it be at least 55, but that might just be my midwestern blood talking. ;)
