We got to that area recently, although not to attend the faire itself this time, and chatted with a merchant who said he felt the new owners had a good broad overview of things, moving an ATM machine whose line had been interfering with admission line, etc., and he thought it was all improving, despite the poutyness of some of the former performers who hadn't been invited back. I know we chatted about this a bit back when, and wanted to mention the new info--one of these days I'll get there!

That's really cool to hear. Sucks that some of these performers weren't invited back and I'm curious as to why, but that just may be a mystery we never uncover.;)

Thank you for the additional info. and I really hope you're able to make the Faire next year. It was really nice.:)

That IS an attractive layout phsycially of the grounds, and I LOVE the blue-green faery outfit--

At first I wasn't sure what to make of the layout -just 'cause it was so different from any other I'd been to before, but looking back -it was actually a very smart way to do things and it's a very attractive site. I love all the trees and the shade options and it seems as though there's enough breathing room between boothes for anyone to enjoy.

Oh yes, I ADORED her outfit. It's rare for me, these days(happening more and more on the rarity), to see a Fae-character whose costume I really like. I'm seeing less and less Fae costumes at Faires of late and of those it seems like less and less people are really putting much thought, effort, imagination, or even money into their costumes. It's really disappointing.:(

Thanks so much for the comments!!:)
(*thinking* I should really upload my Great Lakes Faire photos soon...)

yeah, I think having shade and woods and everything not-like-ahighway makes sense and is much more natural and attractive. I would think that having booths in the woods a little would attract more people who want to find 'real' goodies somehow, and that might be nice. I am maybe eventually getting married and would make my own dress (I made mine the first time like 20 years ago too), and would make it sort of fae-looking, so I love to see all sorts of well-done alternative gowns and dresses. We also would be singing in a band at the reception, so it would be fun to do that!

Oh yeah, it definitely makes traversing the Faire alot easier. You've got different options for approaching a booth rather than just from the front -where it can crowded and congested.:/ And as you said, it's definitely far more attractive, too.

That would be so awesome to see a Faire/Fae wedding dress!:D
