ohh I totally second your theory :D Although Kubo's never going to spill the beans, I just love all these tiny hints here and there, be it a coloured spread where they are featured together or a tiny manga-episode :D
It strikes me even more that they appear together most of the time! it's so cute... and so promising for such a helpless renruki fan as i am :D

I love the teasing between them xD. Sometimes it's Rukia who teases him (example, his eyebrows xD) and others is Renji who does it. I like that equilibrium and it always makes me think that they are flirting with each other ^^.
