*blushes* Thank you so much. I've been wanting to draw it pretty much since I read the scene.

Beautiful! I love that it's made of only black and white--it suits the ambiance of the Hunger Games really well. Love it.

Thank you. That's an interesting point. I actually planned on coloring this eventually, but I do like the black and white version. :)

Wow. I'm in love with this drawing so much <33
I adore your work on their hair. I always have difficulties with those kind of things. How many hours overall it took you to finish it?

Thank you.

Drawing hair is always challenge. I did look at references of Katniss' hair in the movie. I sketched it in pencil first until I got it the way I wanted. It was longer, at first, until I remembered that this scene was after part of it has been sheared off in the fire storm.

I was going to say that this drawing didn't take very long, but I often get consumed with what I'm doing and don't realize how much time has passed. In this instance, I probably spent about two and a half hours on it in one sitting... drew everything out in pencil and then went over it with Pigma Micron pens when I was satisfied with the lines.

Can you give me a tip on how to draw hair/fur? Do you have a specific way, like when you draw an object? I, for example, tend to draw the outlines first and then get into details, shading and stuff like that.

Yeah, I get consumed with my work too very often. Sometimes, an hour feels like 15 minutes to me.

First, sorry for the belated reply.

I think I draw hair basically the way you describe. I draw the basic shape of the hair, the "outlines," as you said. Then I go draw the details, such as the strokes showing the texture and direction that the hair falls.

I draw braids a little differently, though. Since the details radiates from the center, where the strands of hair interlock into the braid, I draw each section, going down from the start of the braid.

Love this. Everyone has already said it, the hair is perfection but oddly enough, my eye is drawn to Peeta.

Thank you. It's cool to see people responding to different aspects of the drawing. :)
