Eek, this is an old one. Okay, I've been writing for less than a year so it's not really old, but it is about the fourth story I ever tried to write. I liked it very much. A bit bleak, but with a warm center. And I actually finished reading it during my lunch break (it was all quiet at the office with my assistant out sick and the PM was at daycare ---- the blessed silence!)
