OOC: Brave Vesperia, Meetings, and Roster
In Tales of Vesperia, every guild has a purpose and/or official job of some sort. Fortune's Market handles the selling and distribution of goods, The Dark Wings are a thieves guild, The Blood Alliance and Leviathan's Claw are dirtbags sort of like a goons-for-hire guild ... so on ect. Brave Vesperia's "purpose" is "to do justice and punish the unjust", which makes them sound like some kind of police guild.
However, in-game, they do things like deliveries, tracking people, obtaining rare items in dangerous places, and organizing messy warehouses. They're pretty much a "jack of all trades" type of guild, and they'll do just about whatever job they're hired for, as long as it's for a just cause -- and they're not afraid to jump through hoops to get a job done. They'll (meaning Yuri) complain, but they're not afraid of extra work. If it's a job not for a just cause and they find this out too late (Ex. Aiding a noblewoman who was using them to support a terrorist group), then Yuri gets PMS in his own Batman-like way they'll still complete the task assigned to them, but don't expect them to let you hire them out ever again.
In Luceti, the easiest way to think of them is "UPS, run by handymen and mercenaries". Well, more like EMS, except without insane charges. Aside from that, Brave Vesperia usually does whatever Albert says, but not because "it's Albert and he's important" -- 90 times out of 100, the guild agrees with what's being asked of them. If there's something Albert wants from them that Yuri either can't do or won't do, he won't kick back and go "lolkay". Past that, they work with Vyse's Blue Rogues as back-up, in case that group over-extends themselves.
Aside from all that, they do random other things, like patrolling when the amount of kidnappings increases, or helping New Feathers/kidnap returnees get back to the village. All in all, it's a pretty chill group -- if there's something someone can do and they're not a slimeball, they can join up, generally :|b
Hokay, there's three types of meetings that go on for Brave Vesperia: General Updating, Emergency Planning, and Hangout. Yuri's in charge of orgainizing the meetings for the most part, since he's been here longer and has more experience. And... Considering how Yuri is, the third is the most likely to happen. Anyway, here's more info on that stuff and the like.
General Updating: These are meetings that update all of Brave Vesperia on any changes to the guild (new members, new patrol orders (either on the lookout for kidnap returnees or New Feathers), whether they've been hired out by anyone or whatever) or where new ideas are presented (either by Yuri or guildmates) and discussed. Unless an idea is being presented, this type of meeting will more than likely be assumed. This meeting type usually takes place on the 30th (or 28th/29th, stupid February), to get everyone updated and ready for the next batch of New Feathers to come in.
Emergency Planning: These come up when something big happens and it's best to keep the planning for it off the journals. Generally, Yuri will babble out the game plan for Brave Vesperia and anyone can thread with him from that with objections, agreeances, "I have to feed my cat, sorry", whatever. These will more than likely be in the same post as the "Guys, head to the barracks" post. More than likely a code of some sort will be put into place to make it less obvious to the Malnosso that planning is going on behind their backs, but it probably won't be right away.
Hangout: Basically, everyone meets up to just ... chill for an hour or two. One big ol' face-to-face check-in. Members can talk amongst themselves, or if someone has an idea, it can be brought to Yuri there. Mostly, it's just so the guild is more of a guild and less of a group of people who may or may not know each other but stand under the same banner. These will likely happen the most, and usually on the 15th. It can happen on the 30th as well, if there's nothing to update the guild on, or very little.
Thanks to meetings like these, it can be assumed that all members of Brave Vesperia at least know each other by name. When a new member joins BV, please remember to wait until either the 16th or 31st (or 1st of the next month, depends on the amount of days) before assuming your character knows them by name. Otherwise, that makes it look really weird 8|; I mean, imagine if you just came to Strange New World Land, joined a group on your first week, then suddenly everyone in that group knew your name when you've never seen them before. Creepy, right? Yeaaaah. Try not to do that if you can help it :|;
If meetings are going to be played out, a post will be put up on either the 15th or 30th -- more than likely, I'll give a little heads-up OOC note in a previous post. If for any reason you want a meeting on a certain day to be played out, please PM me at least a week before.
If your characters doesn't come to meetings that are actually played, please send me or Yuri's mun an IM or PM so Karol/Yuri aren't all "omg what happened you weren't at the meeting r u ok?" when you thought we'd assume they'd be there. They're not going to come after every member who didn't make an appearance in a thread, unless they're ones they are close with or needed to speak with, so it's okay if you're afraid/shy/lazy/idkwhatever to send prior notice. Most of the time, it'll be assumed they were there unless, as said, they were needed for something, which is something that you as a player would be aware of anyway.
