AN: In Chapter five, Jack visits his home again, and although POB doesn’t describe the visit in detail, it occurred to me that this would have been perhaps the first time Philip would have met his older brother and been old enough to remember him clearly, with the possible exception of Jack’s wedding, where Philip must have been at least four years

Wonderful! I agree, Philip is sadly overlooked - he is a delight.

And certainly he decided to go to sea to emulate his big brother :D
